Overview

The Pacific Energy Alderlea T4 LE is the smallest stove in the Alderlea family and is designed for customers who want the traditional appearance and heat-retaining feel of cast iron without giving up the durability of a welded steel firebox. Pacific Energy rates it for small-to-medium spaces, making it a strong fit for cottages, compact homes, finished lower levels and other areas where a larger stove could simply produce too much heat.

The T4 LE uses a 1.6-cubic-foot firebox with a large 152-square-inch viewing area. Pacific Energy recommends 16-inch firewood, with the current Canadian LE literature listing an 18-inch maximum log length. Fuel loads east to west, so logs sit sideways across the firebox. That keeps the stove compact while still providing useful capacity for regular supplemental heating.

Under the decorative cast-iron exterior is Pacific Energy’s catalytic-free combustion system, including a stainless-steel baffle, rails and flame shield, boost air for easier lighting and its floating-firebox design. The stove uses a single-lever air control and includes an easy-access ash-disposal system. An airwash system helps maintain the view of the fire, while inside- or outside-air capability adds flexibility for different installation situations.

The T4 LE makes the most sense for someone who likes the Alderlea appearance but does not need the larger capacity—or the swing-out warming shelves and concealed cooktop found on the T5 and T6. It is less about cramming every Alderlea feature into the smallest stove and more about giving customers compact Pacific Energy performance wrapped in a substantial cast-iron body. An optional temperature-actuated variable-speed blower is available when additional heat circulation is wanted.
