Pacific Energy Alderlea T5 Insert LE

  • Turns an old fireplace into a serious heater – designed to upgrade medium to large masonry fireplaces with efficient, controlled wood heat instead of losing it up the chimney.

Overview

The Pacific Energy Alderlea T5 Insert LE is designed for homeowners who want the heating performance of the Super Insert LE but prefer the traditional look and feel of cast iron. Pacific Energy positions it for medium-to-large spaces, making it a strong choice for customers replacing an open masonry fireplace with something that can provide meaningful everyday heat while looking more like a finished piece of furniture.

Inside the cast-iron exterior is a 2.1-cubic-foot steel firebox rated for up to 72,000 BTU using cord wood. It accepts logs up to 18 inches, with 16-inch firewood recommended, and uses north-south loading to make full reloads easier and reduce the chance of logs rolling toward the glass. The 152-square-inch viewing area gives customers a clear view of the fire while keeping the insert relatively compact within the fireplace opening.

The T5 Insert LE uses Pacific Energy’s catalytic-free combustion system with Extended Burn Technology (EBT), along with a high-capacity baffle, multi-port combustion air injection, 304 stainless-steel internal components, boost air for easier lighting, floating-firebox construction and a single-lever air control. Two temperature-actuated variable-speed blowers are standard, which is especially important in an insert because they help pull heat away from the masonry cavity and move it into the room where the customer can actually use it.

Where the Alderlea T5 Insert LE separates itself from the Super Insert LE is appearance. The cast-iron surround, warming shelf and ash lip give it a more traditional, substantial presence than Pacific Energy’s steel-faced inserts. Pacific Energy offers standard and oversize surround heights, so the insert can be better matched to different fireplace openings. For customers who need Super-sized heating performance but want something softer and more traditional in the room, the T5 Insert LE is the natural step sideways rather than simply a step up.
