Quadra-Fire Classic Bay 1200 Insert

    • Two installation possibilities – Use the Classic Bay 1200 as a traditional pellet insert or configure it as a built-in zero-clearance pellet fireplace.
    • Serious heating capacity – Up to 48,500 BTU of input and a large 75 lb. hopper make it well suited to longer, steady heating cycles.
    • Classic bay-window design – The three-sided glass presentation provides a generous view of the fire while keeping the traditional fireplace appearance many homeowners prefer.

Overview

The Quadra-Fire Classic Bay 1200, commonly called the CB1200, has been a staple in the Quadra-Fire pellet lineup for good reason. It combines straightforward pellet-heating technology, a large hopper and substantial heat output in a traditional design that works particularly well in larger living areas.

One of its biggest advantages is installation flexibility. The CB1200 can be installed into an appropriately sized masonry or factory-built fireplace as a conventional insert, but it can also be configured as a built-in zero-clearance installation using the required rear shroud system. That makes it an interesting option for customers who want the appearance of a built-in pellet fireplace without starting with an existing masonry chimney. Installation requirements differ between configurations and should always be confirmed for the specific project.

Performance is another strong point. With an input range of approximately 17,000 to 48,500 BTU/hr, a 75 lb. pellet hopper and published heating capability of roughly 1,000 to 2,700 sq. ft., the Classic Bay 1200 is designed more as a meaningful home heater than a decorative occasional-use appliance. Actual heating performance will depend heavily on insulation, layout, ceiling height and New Brunswick winter conditions.

The CB1200 is also deliberately less complicated than some newer premium pellet appliances. Its proven feed system, easy-clean firepot and thermostat compatibility make it a good choice for someone who values dependable, practical pellet heat over a long list of electronic features. If you like the traditional bay-window appearance and want substantial pellet capacity, particularly in a renovation or built-in fireplace project, the Classic Bay 1200 remains a very practical option.
