Overview

The Traeger Timberline is built for the outdoor cook who wants more than basic set-it-and-forget-it smoking. It combines a premium pellet grill, connected temperature control, a side induction cooktop, and a substantial amount of prep and storage space into one complete cooking station. With 880 square inches of cooking space across three levels, it has enough room for larger gatherings without taking up as much space as the Timberline XL.

What separates the Timberline from most pellet grills is its integrated Traeger Induction® cooktop. Pellet grills are excellent for low-and-slow cooking, roasting, and baking, but they are not always the fastest way to produce a hard steakhouse-style sear. The induction surface addresses that limitation by giving you a dedicated place to sear steaks, sauté vegetables, simmer sauces, or heat a cast-iron pan while the main grill handles the rest of the meal.

The main cooking chamber operates from 165°F to 500°F and uses fully insulated construction to help maintain steadier temperatures. Super Smoke® Mode and Traeger’s Downdraft Exhaust® system are designed to keep smoke moving across the food, while the touchscreen Timberline WiFIRE® controller allows you to adjust settings and monitor cooks through the Traeger App. The grill also includes an integrated pellet sensor, wired food probes, and Traeger X MEATER® wireless thermometers for keeping track of both the grill and the food without hovering over it all afternoon.

The Timberline is a good choice for someone who cooks outdoors regularly and values better construction, easier cleanup, flexible accessories, and connected cooking controls. The EZ-Clean™ Grease & Ash Keg collects grease and ash in one accessible location, while the P.A.L.® Pop-And-Lock accessory rail and ModiFIRE® cooking surfaces let you customize the setup over time. It can also be permanently incorporated into a compatible outdoor kitchen using the appropriate installation components. This is not the least expensive way to get into pellet cooking, but it is one of Traeger’s most complete options for customers who will genuinely use the additional capability.
