The True North TN40 Pellet Insert is a practical choice for homeowners who already have a masonry fireplace or an approved factory-built zero-clearance wood fireplace and want to put that space back to work. Rather than relying on an open fireplace that sends much of its heat up the chimney, the TN40 converts the opening into a controlled pellet-burning heating appliance.
Its appeal is simplicity. A wide stainless-steel burn pot, automatic ignition and five selectable heat levels provide a good flame presentation without adding a complicated control system. The TN40 can operate manually or, with an optional low-voltage wall thermostat, in automatic or high/low thermostat modes. An air-wash system helps keep the glass cleaner, while the burn-pot design is intended to make regular maintenance manageable.
With output ranging from approximately 8,000 to 36,000 BTU/hr and a hopper capacity of up to 60 lb., the TN40 is well suited to customers looking for meaningful supplemental heat with longer periods between refills. Its 73% published efficiency and very low 0.69 g/hr particulate emissions also make it a clean-burning option for upgrading an existing fireplace.
One distinction is important: the TN40 is not itself a stand-alone zero-clearance fireplace for new framing. True North approves the insert for installation into an existing approved masonry fireplace only.
Putting the warmth in winter, the sizzle in summer, and the pizzazz in patios!.
